Herman the Hamster traded snow-covered pines for Adirondack skies—and he’s just getting started.
Straight from the Forest, Eh?
Meet Herman the Hamster: The Great Northern Wanderer
Born deep in the heart of the Canadian forests, Herman is no ordinary hamster. Raised among towering pines and crisp northern air, Herman comes from a long line of hardy northern explorers. With a keen nose for adventure and a love for maple syrup, he quickly became known in the woodland community for his courage, curiosity, and impeccable fashion sense—especially his signature red plaid hunter cap, handed down by his grandfather, the legendary “Hamish the Brave.”
Herman spent his early years helping woodland creatures prep for winter, mapping hidden trails, and sipping warm spruce tea by the fire. But one snowy evening, he felt a calling—an itch in his tiny paws—to venture south and discover the world beyond the pines.
After a long and winding journey across rivers, railways, and roadside diners, Herman arrived in the Adirondacks. It was in Bolton Landing, nestled along the shores of beautiful Lake George, that he finally found a cozy spot to rest. There he waited patiently, blending in among souvenirs and other keepsakes, hoping to meet his next traveling companions.
And that’s when we found him—sitting proudly, plaid cap slightly askew, ready for a new chapter.
Now, Herman is part of our family, and he’s still as adventurous as ever—exploring new places, sipping cocoa, and sharing stories from his great Canadian beginnings.
Follow along as Herman continues his journey—one pawprint at a time.
